Radio 5 Live's School Sports Funding Debate from South Bromsgrove High School

´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 5 Live

Eleanor Oldroyd hosts a special debate on the importance of school sports funding on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 5 Live tonight, Thursday 20 January, from 8-9pm.

The show was recorded on Wednesday 19 January at South Bromsgrove High School in front of an invited audience. Panellists will include 2009 PE Teacher of the Year and South Bromsgrove School Sports Coordinator, Caroline Sidell; Chief Executive of UK Sport, Liz Nicholl; Olympic Silver and World Gold medallist Gail Emms; and Greg Rutherford, European Silver medallist and the current British long jump record holder.

Following the debate, Steve Parry and Kath Merry will host a special London Calling, from 9-10pm, featuring reaction to the debate.

The programme will take calls and hear listeners' experiences of school sport, with guest Sue Campbell from the Youth Sport Trust. It will also look ahead to the training and prospects for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
