A policewoman from Yorkshire, who swapped treading the boards for pounding the beat, gets the chance to showcase her soprano voice when she duets with international opera star Lesley Garrett.

Packed full of surprises and magical moments, Tonight's The Night is the show that really can make dreams come true.

Casualty

Saturday 31 July
9.00-9.50pm ´óÏó´«Ã½ ONE

Lenny and Yuki go head to head for the JAFA scholarship; rumours of Zoe and Jordan's engagement fly around the ED; and Roxanne Pallett stars as the girlfriend of someone with vitiligo, in Casualty – The Enemy Within.

It's interview day for the JAFA Fellowship and Lenny is highly confident. However, he's furious to discover the Ludlow Foundation is refusing to compensate the Crypto virus victims, so decides to take the fight upstairs, until Jordan warns him that Robert is on the interview panel. After holding his own in the interview, Lenny finds his trust shattered when a patient disappoints him. The young medic has to decide whether to stick to his guns or succumb to Robert's offer to relinquish the proof of the cover-up in order to win the Fellowship.

Meanwhile, Zoe is both thrilled and perturbed to see Jordan so happy about her supposed pregnancy and desperately continues with her fertility treatment, despite the fact that it is making her unwell. She has dizzy spells throughout the day and eventually faints at work. Revived by a concerned Jordan, Zoe realises she's running out of time but can't see how to tell Jordan without ruining everything.

Arrogant DJ D-Ray is admitted to the ED with a skin complaint. Zoe discovers that he has vitiligo and that he's been having copious sun-bed sessions to cover up his whitening skin. Warning him that he could have the early stages of skin cancer, Zoe refers him to a specialist but, arrogantly, he tears the referral up in her face. When D-Ray's girlfriend, Leanne, arrives at the ED, D-Ray must decide whether to tell her the truth. But is their relationship only skin deep?

Later, Charlie learns that Megan is dying and is in a great deal of pain. She is desperate and asks Charlie to help her. Is it too much for Charlie and his conscience, though?

Lenny is played by Steven Miller, Yuki by Will Strong, Zoe by Sunetra Sarker, Jordan by Michael French, Robert by Alec Newman, D-Ray by Charles Mnene, Leanne by Roxanne Pallett, Charlie by Derek Thompson and Megan by Brenda Fricker.

´óÏó´«Ã½ PARLIAMENT Saturday 31 July 2010

Peers Versus The People – The 1910 Elections

Saturday 31 July
8.00-8.30pm ´óÏó´«Ã½ PARLIAMENT

By 1910 Britain was on the brink of social change – and class war. Suffragettes were marching for the vote, the campaign for Home Rule was stepping up in Ireland and the new Labour Party was winning the support of the working-classes.

Against this background, the elected Liberal government took on the entrenched might of the unelected House of Lords. And the monarchy was drawn into the constitutional conflict.

A year earlier, Chancellor Lloyd George had introduced the so-called People's Budget – with new taxes on the rich to help pay for social reforms and fund an arms race. In an unprecedented move, the Conservative-dominated Upper House had thrown out his Budget.

The Liberals had no choice but to take their case to the country and the stage was set for a bitter battle dubbed the "Peers versus the People". It would take two General Elections and many more Parliamentary conflicts before the House of Commons could finally assert its authority over the hereditary peers.

´óÏó´«Ã½ Parliament recreates the drama of that year and those two general elections in Peers Versus The People, presented by Carolyn Quinn, combining the drama of election programming with modern interviews and archive contributions.
