The Radio 1 and 1Xtra Academy

Ahead of Radio 1鈥檚 Hackney Weekend, on the first of June 2012 we opened the doors of the Radio 1 and 1Xtra Academy in Hackney.

We wanted to celebrate the young people and the area of East London in the lead up to Radio 1鈥檚 Hackney Weekend and the Olympics.锘�

We ran a range of practical masterclasses and Q&A鈥檚 with various successful people including Usher, Paloma Faith聽and Adam Deacon, where they聽explained how they made it in their chosen career. They were also on hand to聽offer advice to thousands of young people from Hackney and East London. 聽
