Sally Hawkins is a British Actress best known for her performances in Happy-Go-Lucky, Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine and most recently Mrs. Brown in the feel-good family film Paddington.
Interesting Facts:
- Sally’s parents are a successful writer-illustrator team behind many children’s books. She says ‘stories were integral to [her] upbringing’.
- She once said in an interview that ‘words can be a scary thing on the page for a lot of children, but when you realise the power of them, they can transform you’
- She won a Golden Globe in 2008 for her role in Mike Leigh’s Happy-Go-Lucky. She accepted the award whilst having a broken collar bone and so couldn’t hold the award during her acceptance speech!
