5 times grime ruled Glastonbury

With over 100 live sets to choose from there's plenty of amazing Glastonbury history to watch on 大象传媒 iPlayer as part of The Glastonbury Experience. To help you navigate the treasure trove of performances on offer we've put together a series of articles to guide you.

Here, we take a look at some of the greatest grime inspired moments from the archives...

Stormzy (2019)

Where else can you start? Of course it has to be Stormzy's iconic headline set on the Pyramid Stage in 2019, when he became the first grime artist to top the bill at the festival. Famously, Big Mike's in-ear monitors failed early in the performance causing him to worry that he'd blown the chance of a lifetime. Obviously he needn't have worried...

Little Simz (2019)

Little Simz was already having a banner 2019 by the time she took to the stage at Glastonbury. Coming off the back of her massively acclaimed, Mercury Prize nominated album Grey Area her performance had a celebratory air, there was even a chance for her to show off her bass guitar skills.

Kano (2017)

One of grime's most enduring artists and widely regarded as one of its pioneering talents, Kano's performance in 2017 is a simply stunning set. Given the enviable task of shutting down the Park Stage for that year, he did just that with a set featuring his distinctive East London sound as well as a sprinkling of Notting Hill carnival vibes thrown in to the mix.

Dizzee Rascal (2010)

Going into 2010, Dizzee Rascal was on a massive high after releasing a series of hits, including Bonkers and Dance Wiv Me. He brought these and more to the Pyramid Stage with him and had an extra special surprise for the Glastonbury crowd, bringing out Florence Welch to join him to perform their collaboration You Got The Dirtee Love.

Stefflon Don (2019)

Stefflon Don brought the party to the John Peel Stage in 2019. Performing in front of her own name spelt out in large gold letters, she was determined to make sure the Glastonbury crowd remembered what they had just witnessed. She delivered an hour of wall-to-wall bangers, plus a brief appearance from the one and only Idris Elba.
