Lars is quick and clever,
Lars is tall and sly.
He dreams of moons and planets
Throughout the orbit's sky.
'Tea's ready in ten minutes!'
Mum shouted up to Lars.
'Ok, I'm playing Astronauts,
I'm on my way to Mars...'
Lars opened up his wardrobe
And grabbed his silver suit,
He dreamed of reaching the highest planets
And quickly grabbed his boots.
He climbed into his toy box
And slowly closed the lid,
Last breath of oxygen for a while
And down the box he slid
Five, Four, Three the rocket shook
Lars suddenly heard a 'squeak'
'Wait for me' squeaked Jack the hamster
'I want to take a peak'
Lars found a piece of Lego -
A helmet just for Jack.
The boys were ready, the astro team
Were ready to attack.
Blast off again, shakes and booms,
Five, Four, Three, Two, and One.
The Rocket launched, but what's that smell?
No! Jack has done a trump!
Let's try again, three, two, one,
We're launching off this time.
Whoosh and Boom the rocket fired,
And followed the planets line
First landing is to the mighty moon
To grab a spot to eat.
Cheese galore, full of holes,
But where is all the meat?
Jack nibbles on the mouldy cheese
And burps a nasty smell,
The gases fill the atmosphere
And create a Catherine wheel.
Back to the capsule, we don't have long
'We need to move', mouthed Lars.
'We're off to find a big red ball,
We're on our way to Mars!'
Safely landed on the ball of red
Lars dropped his chocolate bar.
It floated, surrounding the red hot gas
And melted the bar of Mars.
'The bar has turned to liquid!' Jack squeaked
Although it seemed he knew.
'Mars is full of chocolate rivers,
Now that I never knew.'
Lars floated like a hot balloon
Across the chocolate lava.
'Let's have a sip, but make sure you're quick,
Weird - it tastes a lot like guava!'
'Time is running out,' gnawed Jack
'We need to board the rocket.
I'm taking all this chocolate home!'
And Jack began to fill his pocket.
Rocket team boarded, we're ready, let's go
Back to Earth we blast,
A whistle-stop trip to Lars' favourite place,
The Milky Way is vast!
'Lars, your food is ready,' mum calls out
'But I'm not ready for my tea!!
Jack's nibbled the cheese, I've had milky ways,
A Mars, and a Galaxy.'
Lars removed Jack's helmet
And took off his astrosuit.
The journey was over for another day
As his put away his boots.
As he ventured down for dinner,
And finished up his play,
He planned his next adventure
To begin another day.
