The remarkable story of how one man and his family from a small West Yorkshire town became major players in the film-making business before Hollywood was even thought of. Holmfirth is today best known for its role as the setting for Last of the Summer Wine, but in an earlier incarnation it was the setting for a series of films, mostly slapstick and comedy, produced well before the first studio opened in Hollywood in 1911.
