A combination of documentary footage and dramatic reconstruction traces the life and career of Elvis Presley. A quartet of actors portray the King at different junctures in his life, from his early days in Tupelo and Memphis, through his early TV appearances, the years he spent in the army and movies, to his comeback and touring years, up to his death in 1977.
