When Love Comes to Town

Documentary series which follows 16 strangers on a journey to find love. Ahead of her dates, Rachel fears her shyness will get in the way of any potential romance.

When Love Comes to Town is an entertaining new documentary series which follows sixteen strangers as they embark on a unique and touching journey to find love.

Eight single men from the rolling hills of Devon travel to a remote coastal town in The Highlands of Scotland. Here they meet eight single women who, just like the men, have experienced the same frustrations and disappointments when trying to find love locally.
Two 'matchmakers' - one from each community - will be joining the group on their journey - helping these romantically rusty men and women aged between 30 and 60 years, find what they are looking for. But will they suceed?

It's day three of the men's visit to the Highlands on When Love Comes to Town, and the Devon bachelors are creating waves in the small coastal town of Gairloch. While matchmakers Frances and Heather try to unravel a love triangle formed from the first two rounds of dates, the next two women set off on theirs.

30 year old school teacher Rachel knows exactly why she's struggled to find the right partner in the past "The reason I'm single is that I just can't speak to anyone who I'm attracted to ..I go bright red and get all tongue tied!" Faced with the prospect of having to go on two dates in one day, Rachel fears her shyness will get in the way of any potential romance. But it's her quiet personality that has both men intrigued and by the end of the evening Rachel is facing more choices than she bargained for.

The second woman to go dating is 51 year old local music teacher Beth. She has never been married and her last date was 15 years ago. "Being overweight I'm worried that none of the men will like me - like being the last one to be chosen for the gym team!" Not confident that her appearance will win over a man who is 20 years younger, Beth relies on her sharp wit and musical talent to make quite an impression.
