10/13. The Scots are Classless.

Robert Burns said it most forcefully: 'A man's a man for a' that'. Never mind rank or wealth, equality has been the driving principle behind every significant Scottish creation from the Declaration of Arbroath to the Constitutional Convention.

Why then are there more private schools in Edinburgh per head of the population than any other city in Britain? Why is life expectancy in Drumchapel ten years shorter than in neighbouring Bearsden? Writer Des Dillon is Lesley's guest.
