An energetic musical set in London's Soho in the late 1950s. In a colourful evocation of Colin MacInnes's cult novel of teenage cool, the movement, colour and music have an infectious enthusiasm and vitality that appeal to the senses, though characterisations and the ambitious attempt to represent social issues are less well realised. The musical score was supervised by Gil Evans.
