A performance of Handel's dramatic oratorio Israel in Egypt, given in the Usher Hall as part of the 2008 Edinburgh International Festival. Handel gave the lion's share of the Biblical story of Moses leading the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt to the chorus, who recreate the world of fire and brimstone, plagues and war in some of the most descriptive music Handel ever wrote.
