Division or Diversity

A programme looking at the lives of a cross-section of people who have moved abroad, and exploring some of the challenges they face.

What is it like to make a new home for yourself and your family in a new country? This programme looks at the lives of a cross-section of people who have moved abroad, and explores some of the challenges they face.

All of the people featured have settled in Northern Ireland and include James from Nigeria, Lumi from Kosovo, Bond Lai who is Chinese-Irish, Jamal Iweida from the Belfast Islamic Centre, Tess Furdano and her medical colleagues in the Belfast Health Service who all came from the Philippines, and Mark, Barbara and Michael, who are all travellers.

The programme also features Professor Paul Connolly from Queens University Belfast and journalist Fergal Keane, who explore some of the challenges immigrants and refugees have encountered in the past and continue to face in the modern world.
