The arts and ideas programme.
Rana Mitter talks to India's greatest living artist MF Husain, known as India's Picasso. He also discusses a new book which claims that we have witnessed 'the triumph of music' of all the art forms.
Rana also asks whether the traditional professional classes are slowly being dismantled. With the Bank of England warning of a white collar jobs implosion, social workers under fire and plans to 'liberalise' the legal system, the professions appear to be under attack. But are the traditional professional classes a closed-shop relic of a bygone age, or are they bastions of integrity and expertise whose independence and status should be respected?
