Richard Hickox Tribute

Catherine Bott with a concert from St David's Hall, Cardiff, dedicated to the late Richard Hickox. ´óÏó´«Ã½ NOW under David Atherton. Mendelssohn: Symphony No 3. Elgar: Violin Concerto.

Catherine Bott presents a concert given at St David's Hall, Cardiff, dedicated to the memory of conductor Richard Hickox who died in December 2008. Hickox worked with the ´óÏó´«Ã½ National Orchestra of Wales for a quarter of a century, first as a guest conductor, then as principal conductor from 2000 until 2006, when he took the title of conductor emeritus.

The concert is directed by another distinguished British conductor with a long and close relationship with the orchestra, David Atherton. Celebrated Canadian violinist James Ehnes returns to the orchestra to perform Elgar's emotional Violin Concerto.
