Episode 8
Toby Buckland plants out young annuals for summer colour. The team show how to make the most of a front garden; Carol Klein enjoys her In Bloom moment from Glebe Cottage, Devon.
It's 'Flaming June' at last, and Toby Buckland is getting hot and spicy with his summer bedding scheme. He's planting out the annual plug plants which have been grown-on and hardened-off, ready for a summer of dazzling vibrant colour.
Alys Fowler, Joe Swift and Toby have a big project on their hands as they each take on a tricky front garden, beginning with essential hard landscaping tasks. Front gardens are a neglected asset in many homes, so the team show how to make the space work for you - whether you want a designer look, a sensationally scented area outside your front door, or a thrifty and moveable front garden for rented properties.
Carol Klein revels in her In Bloom moment from glorious Glebe Cottage in Devon, and inspires children in an inner city school in Lewisham as they continue growing their own fruit and vegetables as part of the RHS Schools campaign.
Plus more news on the Dig In van, the 30 Minute Fix and some hot topical debate in the potting shed.
