Alex is off on his American Adventure but, fear not, The Best Time of the Day Show is in the safe hands of Tim Smith. Radio 2's Great British Songwriter's Book is open and Tim is playing a wide range of tracks composed by Brits, past and present. He also asks, have you ever met any great British songwriters? Lester's Library is locked for the time being, so Tim brings in a vintage Chris Rea track from the Smith Family Archive, and there is a track by Badfinger from the Lester's Library. There is a track from the new Album of the Week by Lady Antebellum, the new Record of the Week by Gabriella Cilmi and Pause for Thought at 3.20am.
