Brian Matthew, the voice of 60s popular music, replays the sounds of pop's golden years, plays more from the Chronicles of the Sixties archive and marks Cliff's 70th birthday.

Brian Matthew presents the programme for all fans of the music of the 1960s. This week includes tracks from Billy Fury, New Generation, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, The Equals, Ray Charles, Fat Mattress, Cilla and Connie Francis. The EP selection features Pat Boone and Three-in-a-Row marks Cliff Richard's 70th birthday. Listen out for facts, figures and trivia as well as the classic hits and rarities. The Sixties Chronicles highlights the merging of the News Chronicle, the launch of HMS Dreadnought, Nelson Mandela's trial and the Aberfan disaster as we dig into the archives for the events of this coming week during the 1960s as well as a look at what you might have bought with your pounds, shillings and pence.

Sounds of the Sixties began in 1983 and Brian has been at helm since 1990, bringing to the programme his distinctive voice and unmatchable experience of sixties shows.
