Is a village council in India right to stop inter-caste marriages? Plus Ajmal Masroor joins Nihal in the studio to share the secrets of a happy marriage.
At 1- Is a village council in India right to stop inter-caste marriages?
Elders in a village in India are banning girls from using mobile phones because they want to stop them having what they call illicit relationships with boys from different castes. Caste discrimination is an offence in India, but attitudes towards caste are still pretty strong. So are the actions of this panchayat - village council - correct? Is there anything wrong with them trying to preserve their caste?
After 2 - Imam Ajmal Masroor will be here to talk about his book '10 Things You Should Know About Marriage'...
And are you tight if you expect the girl's side to pay for a wedding? Kate Middleton's parents have offered to pay for part of the royal wedding but it's said the Queen will pay for most of it. But if you still expect the bride's family to fork out thousands...does that make you tight and stingy? Or is it a tradition that should be upheld?
