Sally McNair retraces the the journey and lives of Britain's first evacuees who escaped to Glasgow uncovering a remarkable and forgotten history. She meets the evacuees today who tell their stories and the culture shock that met them hundreds of miles from home as the rest of their family lived under Nazi occupation. A fascinating insight into Scotland during World War II as seen through the eyes of children and outsiders. 'Escape to Glasgow' commemorates a hidden chapter in to the lives of the evacuees who lived through it.
