Brian Matthew, the voice of sixties popular music, presents the programme for all fans of the golden decade. With facts, figures, trivia and the Chronicles of the Sixties.

Brian Matthew presents the programme for all fans of the music of the 1960s. Tracks this week from The 1910 Fruitgum Company, Jackie Wilson, Neil Young, Peter Paul and Mary, The Fascinations, Captain Beefheart, an album track from The Rolling Stones, the original version of Got My Mind Set on You (later covered by George Harrison), a Double-A side from Adam Faith and Trash's cover of two songs from Abbey Road.

The Chronicles of the Sixties remembers Ham the chimpanzee, the first Sunday paper colour supplement, the funeral of Sir Winston Churchill, Callan and the Beatles' first national tour when they were second on the bill (below who?) and then their famous last public performance on a rooftop.

Sounds of the Sixties began in 1983 and Brian has been at helm since 1990, bringing to the programme his distinctive voice and unmatchable experience of sixties shows.
