Johnnie Walker spins the hits and digs out the rarities from the decade of platforms, punk and Pink Floyd.
This week Johnnie meets Sheffield's musical elder statesman, Tony Christie, to talk about his decade of chart success from the now ubiquitous Amarillo, to I Did What I Did for Maria, and Avenues and Alleyways.
As Tony approaches 50 years in the music industry and celebrates with a 50 date tour and a new album, he recalls his first foray into the music industry, his whirlwind decade, his biggest Neil Sedaka-penned hit and how he came back into our national consciousness in the Noughties.
Also on the show, a listener digs out their platform shoes or ripped punk T-shirt to remember what the decade meant to them in My 70s and Johnnie spins three gems from a classic 70s album.
