Yazoo, Siouxsie and The Banshees and Jaki Whitren.
Featuring live Yazoo from 1983, plus archive sessions from Siouxsie and The Banshees from 1978 and Jaki Whitren in 1972.
CONCERT:
Yazoo (playing Dominion Theatre in 1983)
Yazoo was comprised of Synths player Vince Clarke and vocalist Alison Moyet.
The band formed in 1981.
This was after Vince Clarke left Depeche Mode (he wrote most of their debut Speak & Spell).
Moyet went on to launch a successful solo career after the band split and Clarke would later form Erasure.
SESSIONS:
Siouxsie and the Banshees (in session for John Peel on 6th February 1978)
Siouxsie Sioux (real name Susan Dallion) formed the Banshees in 1976.
They debuted at the legendary punk festival held at the 100 Club later the same year.
Their debut single 'Hong Kong Garden' reached the top ten.
They disbanded in 1996.
Jaki Whitren (in session for Bob Harris on 8th August 1972)
Jaki was a British singer songwriter.
She was probably best known for her 1973 debut 'Raw but Tender'.
The album was recorded when she was only 19 years old.
She signed to Columbia Records when she was just 18.
