The first Republican candidates debate takes place in New Hampshire, we get the latest from Syria and there are health problems for Hugo Chavez, the President of Venezuela.

Manchester, New Hampshire, is the venue for the first debate between people vying to become the Republican presidential candidate in the USA. Up All Night asks in hour two if they're really up for the fight, or just keeping up appearances.

We get the latest from Syria in the first hour as the army continues its push north, and from Libya where there are reports that officers are defecting from Gaddafi's army to the side of the rebels.
