Gay Asian Weddings and Kids in Restaurants.
Would you go to your gay son's wedding? And is there anything wrong with banning kids in restaurants?
At1- Would you go to your gay son's wedding?
We're asking this because Nihal went to a civil partnership ceremony, or "gay marriage" of a Muslim mate of his at the weekend. It was a lovely do, but the most striking thing was that hardly any of his Asian family or friends turned up. Plenty of people on his white mates side came and they didn't seem to have a problem with it, so why did the Asian side not show?
What would happen if your son, daughter, cousin or other relative came out as gay and said they wanted to enter a lifetime commitment with a person of the same sex. If they invited you to witness their "marriage" would you go? Although you may not be thrilled with the idea, surely you want to be there as its an important part of your son or daughter's life?
After 2 - Is there anything wrong with banning kids in restaurants? And we'll be speaking to author Aneeta Prem about a new helpline for child victims of forced marriage.
