Johnnie Walker re-visits the music of the 70s from pop to prog to punk. This week, he meets one of the architects of British punk, Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock.

Founding member of the seminal punk band, Glen Matlock was a part of the original Sex Pistols line-up as they hung out on the King's Road with Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood in the early 70s. Working alongside John Lydon, writing the melodies as Lydon penned the lyrics, Glen was responsible for booking the band's infamous first gig at St Martin's College, London, where he was studying.

Johnnie talks to Glen about those early days, that infamous Bill Grundy interview and chaotic gigs and why Glen left the band in 1977, going on to form Rich Kids and working with Mick Ronson and Iggy Pop. Now with new band Glen Matlock and The Philistines and touring as part of his all-time favourite band, The Faces, Glen looks back at surviving nearly 40 years in the music industry.

Also on the show, a listener recalls their favourite musical memories in My 70s and Johnnie spins three tracks from a classic 70s album.
