Johnnie re-visits the decade of big hair, big riffs, Blondie, Bolan and Bowie.

This week Johnnie catches up with songwriter Roger Cook, the man behind big 70s hits, including 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing' and Cliff Richards' 'Good Times, Better Times'. Alongside songwriter Roger Greenway, the pair held a formidable presence in the 70s charts, writing for bands from The Hollies to The Drifters. A performer too, Roger joined the band Blue Mink as a vocalist in 1969 who released top hits such as 'Melting Pot', 'Banner Man' and 'Randy'.

Following a move to Nashville, Tennessee, Cook successfully turned his songwriting skills to country music and also released three solo albums. Johnnie talks to Roger about how to write a top hit, his move to America and what it was like being part of the thriving Nashville songwriting community.

Also on the show, a listener recalls their favourite musical memories in 'My 70s' and Johnnie spins three tracks from a classic 70s album.
