Tea and Symmetry

A new drama by Stef Smith. Newly retired, her children grown and her husband lost to the golf course, Sylvia searches for traces of her young self and makes a shocking discovery.

A brand new drama by the award-winning young Scottish playwright Stef Smith.

Retirement has unsettled Sylvia; her children have left home, her husband is lost to the golf course. She's begun to question who she is if she isn't a colleague, a mother, a wife... So, forty years since they last saw each other, Sylvia goes in search of her best friend from school, hoping to find traces of her young self. But, standing on her old friend's doorstep, she receives some difficult news.

About the playwright:

Stef Smith was the writer involved with the critically acclaimed show RoadKill which won numerous awards including a Fringe First, a Herald Angel and the Amnesty Freedom of Expression Award. Her most recent play Falling/Flying sold-out at The Tron theatre in early 2011. In addition to receiving the 2011 New Playwrights' Award by the Playwrights' Studio Scotland, she has recently become writer on attachment with The National Theatre of Scotland.
