Are Hindu Muslim marriages in Bollywood making it more acceptable for everyone?

We're asking this because, as we heard heard on Tommy's show this morning, Kareena Kapoor has been spotted out doing wedding shopping presumably ahead of tying the knott to her long term boyfriend Saif Ali Khan. Obviously this a mixed marriage. Kareena is Hindu and Saif is a Muslim. In the UK it's still usually seen as a big deal for a Hindu to marry a Muslim, but it seems when it happens to film stars no-one raises an eyebrow.
Why do you think this is? Shah Rukh Khan, Amir Khan and Hritik Roshan all married someone from a different religion so does that have an affect on life here?
