Tariq Jahan talks to Nihal

Should a Muslim-owned business be allowed to sell alcohol? Plus Nihal speaks to Tariq Jahan, whose son was killed during the summer's riots.

Should a Muslim owned business be allowed to sell alcohol? We're asking this because a shop owners wife has writing to a Shariah advice website asking whether it would be acceptable to sell alcohol.

She says her husband owns two shops which currently don't sell alcohol but the business has debts and he thinks that selling alcohol is the only to get out of trouble. Her husband has promised the income won't be used in the house but just used to pay debts, rates and rent.

What would you advise her to do? Do you think it is justified to sell alcohol because of these reasons? Do you own a newsagents? If so would you sell alcohol to boost profit if your business was in trouble?

Later in the show Nihal will be talking to Tariq Jahan who emerged as a hero during the riots.

Tariq Jahan's name came to the public's attention after his son was killed during the summer's riots. Haroon Jahan and his two friends, brothers Shazad Ali and Abdul Musavir lost their lives after being hit by a car following a second night of rioting in Birmingham. In the immediate aftermath Tariq appealed for calm. It was a response which the police said prevented the situation from getting any worse. He's also been credited for having a positive change in the way people view British Muslims. Nihal speaks to him after 2. Get your questions in for him.
