Snowtown director Justin Kurzell discusses his uncompromising crime movie, which is already being described as one of the most unnerving serial killer films ever made.
The Awakening - We review this remarkable new film. Set in post-World War I England in 1921. It follows a sceptical woman (REBECCA HALL) who travels to a countryside boarding school to investigate rumours of an apparent haunting. Just when she thinks she has debunked the ghost theory, she has a chilling spectral encounter which defies all her rational beliefs.

The film is unrelentingly grim, brutal, and uncompromising, but already it has staked a claim as one of the best Australian films ever made.
