Rhod Sharp with the latest news from around the world. Tensions between Pakistan and NATO continue to escalate over the cross border attack and in the UK the strikes begin.
We get reaction from Pakistan and the US after Major-General Ishfaq Nadeem accuses NATO of deliberately firing across the border at Pakistani troops and continuing to fire after being told to stop. William Milam, a former US Ambassador to Pakistan tells us that nothing is clear in the fog of war but Pakistani journalist Marianna Baber points out that that excuse won't wash for her countrymen.
Our reporter Nick Garnett is on the picket line at Birmingham Women's Hospital as nurses come out on strike. UNISON president, Eleanor Smith, a theatre nurse from Birmingham, explains why she and her colleagues have decided to take industrial action, and why patients shouldn't fear for their safety.
