Kenny Dalglish's Liverpool will hope to repeat last season's home victory against Manchester City when the two meet at Anfield. Andy Carroll provided the inspiration for that win with two goals but it was Roberto Mancini's men who went on to clinch Champions League qualification.
Elsewhere Newcastle travel to Manchester United, where they have not won since 1972. Sir Alex Ferguson's team have a 10-year unbeaten record against the Magpies.
