Dan Walker and guests Mark Lawrenson and Lee Dixon are at Turf Moor stadium to reflect on the latest football news and preview a busy weekend of action, including Burnley's Championship match with Leeds United. The pick of the Premier League fixtures are Newcastle United's trip to Manchester City and Chelsea's home game with Liverpool.
Roberto Mancini's Manchester City have been on electric form away from home this season, scoring for fun and even beating champions Manchester United - their bitter arch-rivals and neighbours - 6-1 at Old Trafford. But Newcastle have been a genuine surprise package under Alan Pardew. The manager who the fans did not want is steadily winning round the ever-vocal St James' Park faithful by crafting a team who are hard to beat and pleasing on the eye.
Chelsea's evolving side are adjusting well to life under a boss who is a similar age to many of their players. But 33-year-old Andre Villas-Boas has some gifted youth to call on too, with Spanish winger Juan Mata and English forward Daniel Sturridge impressive so far this season. Entertainment is never in short supply with Kenny Dalglish's Liverpool. Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard will be aiming to repeat, or better, the 1-0 win the Reds achieved last season at Stamford Bridge.
