In the new feature Headline News [Number one albums on noteworthy days], we hear Blowin' In The Wind by Peter, Paul & Mary, from the LP In The Wind. It was number one on 22 November 1963 - the day on which President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. We also hear Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac from Rumours. It was number one in the US on 25 May 1977 - the day the Star Wars movie opened.

In the regular feature The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, songs are featured from LPs by Firefall and Jill Scott. It's Not The Same Old Song highlights Rich Girl by Daryl Hall & John Oates and a different song with the same title by Gwen Stefani.

In A Matter Of Life And Death Paul celebrates the birth on this date in 1948 of Kenny Loggins. We also hear The In Crowd by Dobie Gray as a tribute to the recently deceased singer.

We round up the 2012 inductees to the Grammy Hall Of Fame Singles list with I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor and The Message by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, featuring Melle Mel & Duke Bootee.

Our R&B Number Ones are from 1964 - Louie Louie by The Kingsmen - and this week - Stay by Tyrese. We hear Country Number Ones from 1954 and now by Jim Reeves and Toby Keith. This week's past and present Rock Number Ones are by Quarterflash and The Black Keys. For a fifth week, the number one album is Christmas by Michael Buble. On the singles side, Sexy And I Know It by LMFAO is Number One for a fourth week.
