What Burns Did For Me

As a triple winner of the Burns Federation Certificate for the whole of Lanarkshire 30 years ago, Tam sets out to find out as much as he can about Robert Burns.

As a triple winner of the Burns Federation Certificate for the whole of Lanarkshire 30 years ago, Tam sets out on a journey down memory lane. His first port of call is at the scene of the crime, Calder Primary in Motherwell, and ends five minutes later after being booed off the stage.

Undaunted, but slightly hurt, Tam decides to go back to square one and find out as much as he can about Robert Burns, his work and how to perform it. While seeking the help from several Burns enthusiasts and specialists, Tam is stunned when he uncovers some remarkable facts about just what Robert Burns did for him.

Tam's journey concludes with a grand finale, a specially organised 'Burns Day' treat for the pupils of Calder Primary in the heart of Burns Country in Alloway. Will Tam be booed out of Burns' home town?
