We find out about the new leader of Syria's opposition and take a look back at the life and work of science fiction writer Ray Bradbury.

Our correspondent in Istanbul Jonathan Head has spent the weekend at the Syrian National Council meeting to elect a new leader. The main Syrian opposition group chose Abdelbaset Sayda, a Kurd who's been living in Sweden. Jonathan told us about him and about how difficult it will be for him to draw together the disparate groups that make up the SNC.

After the death of science fiction writer Ray Bradbury we look back at his life and work with excerpts from the Pacifica Radio Archive in the company of Joanne Griffith.

We find out out about the death of Kenyan presidential candidate George Saitoti in a helicopter crash and the religious violence in Nigeria caused by Boko Haram attacks on churches.
