Asking religious leaders about relationship problems.
Naresh Puri sits in for Nihal and asks whether you would go to religious leader for advice on your marriage problems. Plus the guru is family lawyer Aina Khan.
At 1, Naresh Puri sits in for Nihal and he'll be asking 'Would you ever go to religious leader for advice on your marriage problems?'
Asian women's groups in Australia are protesting after a mosque in Melbourne advised that the best way to save a marriage is to get the husband to take a second wife!
The advice was given through the mosque's Facebook page to a troubled woman who had asked for help.
What do you think about this? It could be argued that an Imam could give this advice because it's in line with his interpretation of Islam? If you go to religious figures and get that sort of advice would you follow it? Could you argue with what he said? What about those who follow Sikhism or Hinduism? Would you ask your priest or pandit what you should do if your relationship was failing? Or should you steer clear from religious advice on how to deal with your crumbling marriage?
Later, The Guru
Our guru today is family lawyer Aina Khan. She will be in the studio answering all your family related legal problems. It gets busy so make sure you contact her early.
