Brian Matthew dips in to his record bag to play some rare sounds and classic tracks, including a 1969 session from Humble Pie and the second part to The Cave by Gary 'Spider' Webb.

There's a Loose Connection this week, tying The Beatles, The Bee Gees and Manfred Mann together - but can you guess what it is?

The ´óÏó´«Ã½ Session this week is Desperation by Humble Pie, a song taken from the first ever session that the band recorded for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 1 back in 1969, for David Symonds. Some avids may recognise that it is a cover of a song originally released by Steppenwolf.

Brian will also be playing the second part to The Cave by Gary "Spider" Webb, after we played the first part a few months ago. Thanks to our loyal listeners, we have been able to track down the follow-up to this rather odd song. Tune in to find out if Jimmy and Julie ever made it out of that cave!

All this and the usual mixed bag of music facts and features to kick start your weekend.
