5 live Sport Review of the Year

Colin Murray looks back on one of the most memorable years in UK sporting history, which included London 2012, the Ryder Cup, Andy Murray and Chelsea's Champions League victory.

Colin Murray delves into the archive to relive some of the greatest moments of the last twelve months in a year that will go down as one of the most memorable in UK sporting history.

The centrepiece of 2012 was the success of the Olympic and Paralympic Games both for the country and the athletes who returned their greatest ever medal haul.

Europe's Ryder Cup team staged one of the most remarkable comebacks in the history of sport to beat the United States. Andy Murray became the first British man to win a grand slam in 76 years.

The world's best golfer Rory McIlroy added the US PGA title to his growing trophy cabinet. Manchester City won the Premier League in dramatic fashion, Chelsea beat Bayern Munich on penalties to win the
Champions League and Bradley Wiggins became Britain's first ever winner of the Tour de France.
