The 1955 Ealing Studios production of The Ladykillers is one of the best loved British screenplays, with notable performances from the likes of Alec Guinness and Peter Sellers. Nearly 60 years on, the black comedy has rekindled its success, but this time on the stage. The story of sweet old Mrs Wilberforce caught up in the activities of a disguised gang is opening for another season, injecting the old comedy with a new element of slapstick farce.ÌýDirector Sean Foley

1. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory TheÌýbig new musical based on the Roald Dahl story about the boy who wins a Golden ticket to tour Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. Sam Mendes directs, Mark Thompson designs and Douglas Hodge plays the eccentric Willy.
