Crime comedy. Art curator Harry Deane plans to seek revenge on his tyrannical boss, so he hatches an elaborate plan to con him into buying a fake Monet.
Harry Deane is an art curator working for unreasonable and bad-tempered collector Lionel Shabander. His plan to get his own back involves going all the way to Texas to find a beautiful Texan cowgirl who can help con Shabander into buying a fake Monet. Harry's been very thorough and covered every angle, but he soon learns that nothing ever goes precisely to plan.
