A row broke out at Belfast City Council last night after DUP councillor Ruth Patterson wore a Linfield scarf in the chamber. She was speaking in favour of a motion calling on the Council to honour outgoing Linfield manager David Jeffrey.

Sinn Fein said it would support the motion but objected to the scarf. The meeting was held up by ten minutes because of complaints from Sinn Fein councillor Jim McVeigh.
