Camping Controversy
Half of Scotland’s population live within an hour’s drive of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. It’s the most visited National Park in the country. Sadly many people don’t treat the stunning area with the respect it deserves. The Park Authority has proposed a controversial new bylaw that would ban wild camping in certain areas of the Park. Euan investigates arguments for and against.
New blood?
Last year a thousand people stopped working in agriculture in Scotland. But there is a drive to bring new blood into the industry. Sarah and Dougie investigate two very different schemes.
First Sarah meets the young couple who secured a tenancy on a ‘starter farm’, a small farm let by the Forestry Commission on a ten year lease.
Then Dougie finds out about a course that aims to turn out small scale, organic farmers.
Stand Back!
Euan takes Landward to new heights when he meets pioneering amateur rocket makers.
A Scots-Italian Treat
Scot-Italian restaurateurs Carina and Victor Contini love cooking good seasonal Scottish produce. Over the next few weeks they’ll be showing us how to make the most of veg growing in the garden right now.
This week the husband and wife team use Musselburgh leeks to create a delicious tart.
