Across the world there are millions of people living in poverty who want to grow their business, send their children to school and feed their families.聽 All they need is an opportunity and this is where Opportunity International comes in.

Opportunity International believes the best way to help people living in poverty is to give them an opportunity to build their own business and support themselves and their communities.聽 By tapping into people鈥檚 energy and entrepreneurial spirit, Opportunity International help people reach their full potential.

Globally, Opportunity International supports nearly 5 million people in over 20 countries with financial services and training.聽 Through innovative technology and tailored financial products 鈥 for individuals, schools and farming communities 鈥 Opportunity International provide people with the tools and knowledge to work their way out of poverty.聽 And with 98% of their micro-loans being repaid and recycled, more people are able to work for a better future.

Elizabeth鈥檚 Story

Elizabeth Afrakome owns a cocoa farm in Adagya, Ghana. Three years ago, her husband suffered a stroke.聽聽 As the family鈥檚 sole provider, Elizabeth struggled to maintain the farm and keep her family fed.

Opportunity International changed this.聽 Elizabeth was provided with agricultural loans, training and support.聽 Elizabeth鈥檚 farm is now making a good profit.聽 The farm鈥檚 success has enabled Elizabeth to pay for her children鈥檚 school fees, employ seasonal help on her farm and save for a rainy day.

Lucia owns a soya, maize and bean farm in Northern Mozambique - 鈥淚 would like to thank Opportunity for all the help I have got.聽 When I worked alone I didn鈥檛 have anything鈥ut when I joined the Opportunity group I got help to be able to change my life for the better.聽 Now my children have a future鈥
