Radio nan GÃ idheal will celebrate Hogmanay in fine Highland style this year with a live ceilidh featuring a host of wonderful singers and musicians to help bid fond farewell to the old year and welcome in 2015. Cathy MacDonald and Kirsteen MacDonald are hosting the programme live from Kilmallie Community Centre, Corpach in Lochaber, offering a hundred thousand welcomes throughout a sensational night of Gaelic, Scots and Irish music and song. Kirsteen was honoured with the coveted Gaelic Ambassador of the Year Award at the Royal National Mod, in Inverness this year.
Leo Moran, cofounder of The Saw Doctors and Anthony Thistlethwaite, cofounder of The Waterboys cross the water from Galway and join our live celebrations as The Leo and Anto Acoustic Project. They will be joined by Skippinish, shortlisted as Live Act of the Year at the Scots Trad Awards 2014, Ellen MacDonald, Mod Ladies Gold Medal finalist, the Highland pipe ensemble, Seudan and the all-female, multi award winning choir, Atomic Piseag. And the foot stomping Glenfinnan Ceilidh Band are back by popular demand to complete the bill of artists who will provide an exciting and eclectic music line up throughout the hour and three quarter long Hogmanay spectacular, starting at 11:30pm. Cathy and Kirsteen will also welcome a mystery first footer who is no stranger to our screens.
