Vincent attempts to get his life back on track but soon finds himself in a compromising situation. Carol turns to an unexpected person for help.
Dean lets on to Buster that he saw Ronnie and Vincent getting up to no good last night. Buster bumps into Claudette and insinuates that he knows about Vincent getting into trouble with Phil. Kim tries to talk Denise and Patrick around to forgiving Vincent and tells them that Vincent wants to take them all for a drink later to make amends. Claudette arrives and quietly informs Vincent that Buster needs to go – he’s been asking too many questions. Vincent finds Buster, Shirley and Dean in Blades and tells them that they have to move out of Patrick’s – today. Buster surprises everyone when he agrees that the three of them will be out by the end of the day.
In the Albert, Vincent tries to sweeten up Denise and Patrick with drinks. A wound up Shirley enters and takes Denise by surprise when she coldly announces that she thought they were friends. Kim fills Denise in – Vincent has decided that it was time for Shirley to find her own place. Vincent attempts to explain his reasoning; he wants to be with his family and see Pearl grow up properly. Buster approaches number 29B just as the estate agent puts up a ‘Let’ sign. Phil approaches and clocks Buster’s altercation with the estate agent - Buster suggests that the pair of them come to an arrangement. Later, Buster proudly shows Dean and Shirley number 29B – he’s secured it for them. As Dean and Shirley disappear in, Phil approaches and comes clean about how he got rid of the previous tenants; Buster’s grateful and assures Phil that he has Vincent just where he wants him. As Buster hands Vincent back his keys to Patrick’s house, he asks for the money Vincent owes him for not telling Kim about him and Ronnie...
Carol enters the café and apologises to Ian and Jane for her drunken behaviour the previous night. Carol muses that even after everything he’s done, Phil is a free man because he has Ritchie as a lawyer. Carol heads over to the Mitchells and begs Phil for Ritchie’s number, but Phil outright refuses to help. Sharon finds Carol in the café and apologises for Phil being harsh – she suggests she has a solicitor she could set Carol up with. Carol’s keen to meet her and persuades a reluctant Jane to come along to the meeting. Sharon introduces Carol and Jane to Margaret. Margaret announces, to Jane’s horror that she needs to speak to Carol alone. Sharon talks an unimpressed Phil round – reminding him that they should care more about who killed Lucy than about getting back at Max. Later, Carol questions Jane over what has convinced her that Max is innocent – Jane snaps that he didn’t do anything, before disappearing home. A panicked Jane fills Ian in, convinced that she’s let something slip to Carol. Later, Jane’s calmed down; how could Carol possible know anything? But as Jane takes out the rubbish, she sees a police car pull up outside Carol’s – she and Carol make eye contact and a paranoid Jane falls to pieces...
Shabnam suggests to Kush that it’d be good for them to try for their own place, but Kush doesn’t think they’d be able to afford a deposit. As Shabnam browses property websites, Masood suggests Shabnam and Kush could move in with him – but Shabnam clocks that he’s only saying it to be kind. When Kush arrives, Shabnam informs him that she’s made a decision; she’s happy for them to move in with Carmel. A conversation with Tamwar makes Kush question how happy Shabnam really is with the decision to move to Essex. Kush halts an excitable Carmel by telling her that he and Shabnam have decided to stay in Walford - but if they’re going to find their own place, they’re going to need to borrow some money. Shabnam’s pleasantly surprised when Kush informs her that he’s told Carmel that they want their own place- before producing the keys to the flat he’s found on the Square.
A concerned Les finds a note from Pam that reads that she’s gone to Mim’s. Paul tries to reassure Les that there could be a rational explanation, but as soon as Les leaves, his façade drops. Les leaves a voicemail for Pam, asking her to call him. Paul’s unimpressed when Les informs him that Claudette came round earlier and had admitted that she’d noticed that Pam has been acting strange lately. Paul comes clean – he told Pam about him and Claudette. Les is devastated and tries to persuade Paul that he’s got the situation wrong but Paul is unsympathetic.
