High Notes and Sore Throats: 50 Years of the Edinburgh Festival Chorus
Documentary following the Edinburgh Festival Chorus as they prepare for an extraordinary outdoor event to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
The Edinburgh International Festival has its own choir - the Edinburgh Festival Chorus which has appeared at every Festival since 1965. This year, as well as singing the usual Beethoven, Brahms and Mozart, they feature in a unique outdoor event to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
For one night only, the exterior of Edinburgh's Usher Hall forms the backdrop for spectacular animations, set to music sung by the Chorus, and created from data from the singers' own bodies. This film follows the creation of that extraordinary show and profiles some of the Chorus's 130 dedicated singers to discover the joy they find in singing together.
