Culture Clash Radio including Crucial Vinyl from Prefab Sprout

Don clashes cultures and mixes new and classic music from around the world, plus he features another piece of Crucial Vinyl - From Langley Park to Memphis by Prefab Sprout.

The Don clashes cultures and mixes new and classic music from the UK, USA, Jamaica and beyond. He also features another piece of Crucial Vinyl from his album collection. This week it's Prefab Sprout's third album From Langley Park to Memphis, released in 1988.

Don says, "A record by group that proves there is such a thing as intelligent pop music and bandleader Paddy McAloon is a master of the form.

I first came across the Sprout via their second album Steve McQueen back in 1985, and was immediately struck the harmonies, melodies
and hooks. By the time they released this, their third album, they were at the top of their game, and with McAloon's intelligent, poetic and
sometimes cryptic lyrics ("...hot dogs, jumping frogs, Albuquerque!...") produced what to my mind is a perfect pop record.".
