Lamb
Scotch Lamb farmers are having a tough time with demand and prices falling. They are trying to spark a revival by taking their “Wham Bam Lamb" campaign direct to the consumer. Dougie meets Perthshire Farmer John Ritchie who is optimistic that there will be a Scotch lamb revival.
Walled Garden
Sarah visits Gordon Castle Estate in Moray to see how work is progressing on the restoration of an eight-acre walled Garden – one of the biggest in the country.
Best Bike Roads
Dougie begins a four part journey exploring some of Scotland’s best driving roads on a Triumph Bonneville motorbike. This week’s journey takes him up the A9 from Inverness to Thurso.
Little Trains
Euan get to play with model trains! The Edinburgh Society of Model Engineers is currently based at Newliston House near Edinburgh. It has over half a mile of tracks at its current location but is about to relocate to a new eleven acre site a few miles away. By next year the Club hope to have created the largest model engineering centre in Scotland.
Cabrach Memorial
In 2014 Landward featured the Cabrach in Aberdeenshire which was depopulated during the First World War. The wild moorland area has been described as the biggest War Memorial in Europe but until now the area has not had a formal memorial to its war dead. After seeing the programme current Cabrach residents decided to build their own memorial. Dougie went to see it.
